Liz’s love for Anatomy and Kinesiology lead her to study Exercise Science at Belmont University, Nashville, TN. Her past experiences of sport related injuries made her want to learn how to train the body to prevent such injuries from happening. In 2018 she became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Liz also is a certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. She specializes in coaching athletic development and prevention of injury. Since 2017 Liz has been training an array of people with different goals and fitness levels. Liz would love to help you tackle any goal you may have!
Tyson Russell
Owner - Coach
Certification:
ISSA CPT 2016
Tyson fell in love with working out at a young age. He quickly realized that strength training gave him an edge in every sport he played. After high school, he went on to play football at McKendree University, where his passion for training only grew stronger.
After his playing days, Tyson earned his Personal Training Certification and began helping others discover their own strength. His favorite part of coaching is seeing people become stronger, more confident, and capable — both in and out of the gym.
Tyson’s favorite style of training is functional fitness — building strength that translates to everyday life.

I’m Elizabeth—but you can call me Liz, Lizzie, Lizzie B…whatever sticks
I’m currently on my third postpartum weight loss journey, and my motto is simple: we all have to start somewhere—so just start.
I’m a proud boy mom of three and have been married to my incredibly handy husband for 10 years. We’re a competitive, sports-driven family, so movement and staying active are a huge part of our everyday life. Leading by example for my boys (and my husband!) is one of the biggest reasons I’m here.
I’m also a registered nurse (RN, BSN) of 10 years and currently work in the health and wellness field—and I truly love every minute of it. Helping others feel their best has always been a passion of mine.
I’ve always dreamed of becoming a strength coach/personal trainer and making a real impact in people’s lives—and I’m so excited to finally be stepping into that.
I’m beyond grateful to be part of the Southside Strength & Conditioning family and can’t wait to grow and work alongside Liz and Tyson, who are such amazing role models!
